What is our purpose?
To learn about structural racism as a basis for being a better white ally overall and especially in creating an inclusive
We will become better advocates by becoming more educated, unlearning our biases, thus being better equipped to address racism
Note: We acknowledge that we cannot name ourselves as allies. A person of color gets to say if we have shown up as an ally for them. We can gain tools and educate ourselves so that we are more prepared to be successful as showing up as an ally.
What is the commitment?
Listen to all 14 sessions of Seeing White by Scene on Radio
Participate in at least 50% of the sessions (Sessions will most likely be 1.5 hours and held in the evening)
What will the sessions be like?
Reflective gathering and group guidelines
Small discussion groups on the themes of each episode
Full group discussion.
